Report About 3G And 4G Technologies
Report About 3G And 4G Technologies Compose a report about 3G and 4G advances. Your report should cover: The principle (both in definition and in fact) contrasts somewhere in the range of 3G and 4G. It is safe to say that they are both tending to very similar things? The principle qualities and contrasts among WiMax and LTE. Which sort of organizations are actualizing which kind of innovation? Under what conditions would one be best over the other? Reliance on fundamental framework. You should present the task by means of safe dole out under chalkboard and furthermore by means of the library. Presentation Remote correspondence is a piece of todays world and is enormously popular as such assets are favored in todays world thus the deals are expanding step by step with gear which includes remote correspondence. The G which implies age, in the innovation today among telephones covers the innovation improvement over the most recent couple of decades. The main cell phone innovation began with 1G which included simple innovation. In the mid 1990s the up and coming age of correspondence created named 2G which was in a computerized innovation which likewise had text informing with the possibility of SIM cards coming into training. SIM is short for (Subscriber Identity Module). Different innovations that advanced were CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access) and GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication). The cutting edge which followed made the information conveying better, making it potential to convey data, for example, sites as how they were initially. In 3G innovation the iPhone has become t he most recent. Starting today the understanding of 4G innovation has not yet been built up. It has been wanted to have quick exchange speeds and ought to have great security. Something different that the 4G innovation should meet is that it ought to diminish blips in move of the gadget while moving between various systems. The 4G versatile system ought to likewise have the option to utilize the systems like the ones on the web with IP addresses. 4G portable isn't yet actualized as an affirmed set of guidelines, so its qualities are at present just objectives as opposed to prerequisites. Just as impressively wanted speeding up, 4G versatile just as should utilize improved safety efforts, When a gadget moves one spot to somewhere else between this zone secured by various system lessen the blips in transmission is the another objective .4G portable systems ought to likewise utilize a system dependent on the IP address framework utilized for the web. Two significant frameworks utilizing 4G innovations are WiMax and Long Term Evolution. WiMax started testing its 4G innovation in Baltimore in 2008. The contrary framework LTE was relied upon to be fit to be tried in 2010 and is required to be prepared for use in 2013. This data above is depicted in detail in this examination. All the subjects secured above are expanded beneath. 3G 3G innovation accompanies preferred highlights over past versatile system advances. It has transmission which is at fast, better mixed media access just as association globally.3G utilized with cell phones an interfaces the telephone with the web and other IP associations which permit voice just as video calls to be gotten to. This as well as assists with downloading and surf the web. From lower portable advances, 3G innovation has higher information speed, better sound and video get to, video calling support, Web use at snappier paces and TV through the Internet. In 3G systems the exchange speed is somewhere in the range of 128 and 144 kbps for gadgets that are quick and 384 kbps for more slow ones. Remote fixed LANs have a sped past 2Mbps. W-CDMA,TD-SCDMA, WLAN and cell radio, among others are a portion of the advancements that 3G includes.[1] WCDMA The third-age Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) will have the option to convey high information paces of up to 384 kb/s at widearea applications or even 2 Mb/s inside . This is accomplished by utilizing wide-data transmission signals with Code-Division for Multiple Access (W-CDMA). The client information are increased by a quick pseudorandom spreading grouping before stage adjusting the radio-recurrence (RF) bearer. The subsequent signs which are then communicated have a data transfer capacity of around 4.5 MHz. Boundary W-CDMA Uplink 1920-1980 MHz Downlink 2110-2170 MHz Access DS-CDMA Duplex technique FDD Regulation QPSK Heartbeat molding Root-raised cos, Chip rate Þ⠱ = 0:22 Client information rate 384 kb/s; 2 Mb/s Data transmission/channel 5MHz Max. yield power 21 dBm (Class IV) TD-SCDMA It was proposed by the China Wireless Telecommunication Standards gathering to the ITU in 1999.60MHz has been saved for CDMA2000 and UMTS, yet TD-SCDMA has held 155MHz.In basic with UMTS-TDD,TD-SCDMA doesn't require separate uplink and downlink and offer velocities from as low as 1.2kbps up to 2 Mbps. Uplink and downlink traffic can be moved in a similar casing yet in various time allotments, and there can be up to 16 codes distributed per space, additional schedule opening can be dedicated to downlink move than in the uplink. This portion of time allotments is dynamic and if a symmetric distribution is required, which is normally the situation for a call, at that point this will likewise be apportioned the necessary assets. The base recurrence band required for this framework is 1.6 MHz and the chip rate is 1.28Mcps.it doesn't have delicate handover component yet has a framework like GSM where the cell phone are firmly synchronized to the system, and it is from here that the term sy schronous is inferred. it is intended to work with a GSM center system is comparable approach to WCDMA and can likewise utilize the UTRAN flagging stack when it is sent as a corresponding innovation. The edge is 5 ms as opposed to 10ms in WCDMA and split into seven opening. [2]. 4G The future framework innovation of 4G should bring something that is very enchancing when contrasted with the past advances. 4G yet doesn't have a significance as it has not yet been built up. Anyway the current focuses for it are as per the following: framework interoperability:- adaptable interoperability of the different sort of existing remote system, for example, satellite, cell remote, WLAN, PAN and framework for remote access to the fixed system. It capacity to meander between various remote and portable norms. Because of the interoperability of various versatile and remote system through a similar terminal we can distinguish the three potential setup. There are 1.Multimode terminals:- this is clearly accomplished by fusing various interfaces to the terminal, one for the entrance strategies for each extraordinary sort of remote system. The capacity to utilize many access techniques will empower clients to utilize a solitary gadget to get to the 4G organize regardless of the specific access strategy utilized. 2.Overlay system:- In this engineering client will get to the 4G organize through the Access Points of a general system. The AP will perform convention interpretation and Qos arrangement for the associations. Since APs can screen the asset utilized by a client, this engineering bolsters single charging and membership. 3.Common access convention:- this decision calls for utilize a couple of standard access convention by the remote systems. A potential alternative is for the remote systems to utilize either ATM cells with extra headers or WATM cells. Terminal data transfer capacity and battery life:- Group of people yet to come system will cover a huge scope of banwidths from about two or three kbps to around 100 Mbps or above. The battery life is required to be about seven days. This will occur with a decrease of the size of the battery. Bundle exchanged fixed system.:- This 4G innovation will utilize remote IP based fixed systems which will have the option to associate the mobiles with the remote systems adequately. Differing nature of transfer speed for remote access:- Having a scope of systems together will make it cover with different systems. Because of where they are, the client will be abl to utilize various characteristics of remote by the difference in transmission capacity. Dissemination layer: This layer of the system will have the option to help with computerized video just as communicating and because of a decent inclusion will cover all territories. Cell layer: This layer of the remote system will give a heap of limit giving numerous clients just as give great inclusion in exceptionally populated regions. It will permit information sizes of more than 2 Mbps. The cell size will likewise be little contrasted with the dispersion layer, and will bolster great versatility. Problem area layer: This layer will help with great assistance over a short separation. It will incorporate WLAN frameworks like IEEE 802.11 and HIPERLAN. This layer won't give extraordinary inclusion specifically as it is a short separation anyway meandering ought to be accessible. Individual system layer: This layer will incorporate remote association anyway in short ranges state using Bluetooth. Versatility will be less however meandering ought to be accessible. Fixed layers: This layer utilizes an entrance framework which is fixed. Propelled base stations: Later on for systems, the new shrewd recieving wires will make the limit greater just as base stations having self-setup not requiring the requirement for work. This would diminish costs. They will incorporate a decent scope of terminals. High information rates: The 3G framework will be changed utilizing what it has as of now to shape the new 4G age. The 4G age will offer higher speed than the 3G age. The presentation of 4G needs explicit targets which are named previously. To get to these objectives, 4G needs the premise on the most proficient method to accomplish this which is clarified in detail below.[1]. How 4G functions: In the systems which have the 4G remote innovation, every one will be given an IP address which will have a home IP address and a location which speaks to its genuine area. At the point when the PC in the Internet needs to speak with another gadget maybe a cell phone in the remote system. The PC will have the option to send bundles to the IP address of the 4G innovation getting to kn

Explain How the Role of the Teacher Changes in the Process...
In this essay, I will define the term normalisation linking it with the concept of deviations. I will also outline the environmental aspects that support normalization, explain the maturational nature of normalisation, describe the teachers initial approach with new children, explain the change in the teachers role as each child begins to concentrate and focus on activities, and finally I will give reasons why a child might regress. There are four characteristics that appear in every child that is developing normally. These are; love of work, concentration, self-discipline and sociability. Therefore normalisation is the process, through which the child obtains these characteristics, by repeatedly concentrating all of her/his attention onâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Luckily s/he is not completely fixed in her/his deviations that the teachers efforts to correct them are in vain. The childs inner discipline and concentration are hidden just below the surface and need only the right activity to bring them out of hiding. The teacher, when approaching the child, must be calm, firm and patient. Neither kindness nor severity will help the child to concentrate. The teacher must offer the child interesting activities that use her/his psychic energy in a productive way. When the child has found an activity that interests her/him, the teacher has to show the child how to do the activity, and then the teacher may step back and allow the child to perform the activity. The teacher must ensure that the child can use the activity properly before placing it freely at her/his disposal, because if they do not, the minute the child turns her back the child will play with the activity in the most stupid way. This will not help their normalisation in any way. At that moment when the normalisation has begun and the child is completely engrossed in the activity the teacher must never interrupt them, for as long as this concentration lasts. As the child begins to concentrate and focus, the teachers role changes from an active one to one of quiet observation. The teacher must put herself in the back ground; she must ensure that nothing she does will disturb the childs concentration. Curfews free essay sample
Kate Fernando Ms. Turner English 155 September 12. 2013 Rough Draft Whether we see or hear something bad happening in our society today, we sometimes ignore what goes on because were too busy with our everyday lives. From time to time, we hear or see that bad things also happen at night. Thats why parents chose to give their children a curfew. Parents want their children to be safe inside their own home rather than running around at night until morning. Children who grow up and have a curfew sometimes think that their parents are being unfair because they cant be out for a long time and have to be home at a certain time. What parents need to teach their kids is that bad things dont Just happen in the morning but can also happen at night. Children who get home early can be in bed earlier and have a good night sleep because they need all of that energy for when they go to school the next day. Teens can also have more time for activities of their own if theyre not around the streets. Although, it is a wise thing to give parents their kids a curfew, theres another side to it. If a teen has any after school activities and it has to last past curfew then how would they make it work if they need to be home before time? Parents who dont stop their children from breaking the rules could face a 100 fine on the first offense. The third one could get them in Jail with a $500 fine. Parents worry less about arrest and teens being in inappropriate places. This helps the community because teens that are out late are more involved in bad behavior like vandalism, sexual activities and violence. Another reason why curfews help is because some teens would get scared of getting caught for being out and committing crimes. Most parents of kids who get in trouble are strict and follow the law. What a arent should do is that they shouldnt give in. Theyre at a point in life when they are pushing boundaries. Its understood that kids need their freedom but its also understood that parents get worried about them being friends with their friends that sometimes they forget that their children need guidance and structure in order to survive on their own later in life. Theres nothing wrong with setting a curfew for 11 PM for children who are under 18. The bad side to giving children curfew is theyre going to rebel against their parents. Any rules you give to anyone, some are going to bend it little by little to he point where they think they control anything. Thats where any parent has to put their foot down and show their kids the consequences that go along with it. Heres another few arguments on some people think that teenagers shouldnt be given a curfew besides them being a rebel. When teenagers have to come in the house at a certain time they feel that they need to get everything done in the house. It also makes teenagers want to sneak out more. If curfews were a little later they would have a better chance of going in the house before they have to and staying out of trouble. Some teens dont like going home early because if they have a problem, they would rather chose to be out Witt no worries. They like to think and be alone. Teenagers feel like they arent growing up by having a curfew. They feel like they are being looked after like children. Teens and children need to feel like their parents have some trust in them. Some people think that setting curfews on teens is meaning less and a waste of money. They think that even though a curfew or a rule is given, people think that everything will solve the problem. The reality is sometimes it doesnt. Rules will still be broken. The bad thing about curfew is that the temptation teens have to break the curfew because it is in every teen to do the opposite of what people tell them to do. No matter what anyone does, teens are still out and committing crimes and getting arrested. Curfews are there to help teens, but they can also be pointless as well. These are some cons that go a long with giving teens a curfew. The way that I see it though is giving teens and curfew is a good idea. I say that because growing up I was given a curfew. Although people think that it doesnt work, it actually does sometimes. It all depends on the type of environment people grow up in and the kind of disciplined they get. One other problem is that teens that have Jobs and they need to work at night. They shouldnt be punished for it because its not their fault that they have to work. When youre out at a certain time, there will be a lot of police monitoring the place but why should you be monitored as well if youre not doing anything bad. What I realized while trying to learn more about writing this paper is that there are more cons than pros to children who have a curfew. A lot of research that Eve one always says that the reason why these curfews and rules are given to kids who have a lot to learn is that they can become prepared once theyre on their own. Another part of my research is that kids need their sleep. If theyre out all night, they wont be able to concentrate the next day. They could end up sleeping during class time and get them in trouble. Depending on the cultural background people come from, its different in every household. There are some parents who give their children a curfew because of how they were raised and then there are some parents who dont give their children a refer or any rules because they werent raised like that. Theres nothing wrong with how parents raise their children. Sometimes its about the discipline and if children can make it on their own later on in life. Why I even chose to talk about this topic is also because of the way that I grew up. I was given all these rules and also had a curfew. Growing up I never understood why my parents were being so strict but then I realized that theyre only doing that because there are a lot of things going on it the world. I also used to think that they were being unfair because Im a girl and Im the baby of the family. I also realized that some girls dont easily get away with things because although we hate to admit it, sometimes thing easily happen when youre a girl rather than a boy. My parents let my brother do things that I couldnt do. Sometimes I resented them for that but now I appreciate what they do. Like I talked about earlier in my paper about is that depending on where you come from the rules are different. Teens go on and on about how their parents treat them like kids because they dont get enough freedom. I know how that is but what some people dont realize is that they only want whats best for us. Just like if you grow up in the Philippines. People who live in metro manila think that its unnecessary. Curfews arent given Just because your parents come trot a deterrent culture, its given because of your own protection. Its more about understanding why giving a curfew especially since in our community throughout the years have been bad. Even though things happen during the day, it can also happen at night as well. The problem with the generation today is that people like to show off. Once they hear that their own peer gets to stay out late, they want to do the same. The most pressure a teen gets is hen theyre in high school. A lot of kids think that they can do what they want Just because they turn 16 or 18 and have a car. Some kids dont, so they get Jealous and find a way to get what they want. Thats when they start to rebel against their parents. They argue until they get what they want. Some of my family and friends that Eve spent time with, told me while they were growing up, they used to sneak out while their parents were sleeping because they wanted to hangout with their friends, boyfriend or girlfriend. I get that we like to do things while were growing up because f all the temptations there are in the world but sometimes the things we decide to do arent the best decisions we make. The only best way to have some what of a compromise when youre young and you want to be out late more is to tell your parents where youre at and who youre with. Some people dont even bother to tell them where theyre at and come home late. They expect not to get in trouble when they get home. One other reason why its a good idea for you tell your parents where youre at is so that they dont go on and call the police that can save a lot of trouble for everyone. Another way to make things eater if youre going to be out late is that you can have a friend or someone with you so that way if youre out late and you tell youre parents your with someone they know then that could also save a lot of arguments. Another thing I would like to talk about learning from experience is one of my cousins. She grew up from a broken family. It was only my aunt, my cousin and her sister together for more than 18 plus years. My two cousins are very different from each other. The other one follows the rules and doesnt do anything bad. Her sister on the other hand grew up to be a rebel. While he was in middle school, she would chose to hangout with her friends rather than do homework or stay in the house. One time we heard that her mom had called the police because she wasnt inside her room. She had snuck out through the window to go hangout with her friends late a night. She came home the next day with her mom so worried that she got grounded and wasnt allowed to go out for a while. Now my stories are different because like I said, I grew up differently. My parents believed that it was best for them to set rules for me not because theyre being unfair but simply because they care. Especially when my brother left for college. I was the last one in the house besides my parent. I had a lot of chores to do and make sure I was doing well in school. From what I can remember is that during school hours, I was limited to hanging out with friends because my parents wanted me to do focus on school and hangout later when I got done with everything. I found out from some of my friends that even though we had school, we were still allowed to hangout. I started to become a rebel and I decided to not do well in school because of how some of my family members and friends are allowed to do things that I couldnt do. That eventually caught up to me and I faced serious consequences. After all the things that I did from before, I learned not to do it again. Its always a learning experience when we do things. Sometimes we nave to learn the nard way bettor we can really understand that what we isnt a good idea. What teens like to do is they like to explore new things and thats good. The only problem with teens wanting to explore new things is that its not always a good thing to do that. This is one of the things that could get teens into serious trouble as well. The problem with our enervation today is that children want to grow up faster. They want to be able to do things on their own. They think that they dont need help. One big part of the reason why giving a curfew is a good idea is because teens dont understand that if drink and drive, they can cause accidents. Whats worse is that they could end up killing someone. With all the research I have done, in my opinion. I think that it wouldnt hurt for a parent to give their kids a curfew because theyll learn to have a better relationship with their own kids. Kids also learn to be more responsible.

Tata Motors Hbr Case Profitability of the Nano Essay Example
Tata Motors Hbr Case Profitability of the Nano Essay Memorandum To Chairman, Tata Motors Ltd Issue Profitable Production of the Nano Issues A primary issue Tata must consider is the current and future profitability of the Nano. In order to determine if their strategy of entering the small car market is feasible, the influences on the industry must be evaluated. If evaluation of the industry indicates that future profitability is in question, the company must consider canceling the project, or focus on areas where Tata can influence the industry to improve the likelihood of profitability. Analysis Profitability/Feasibility One must consider the sensitivity to prices and the affordability of the car to the primary target market (India). Case Exhibit 3 estimates that 21% of households have income levels high enough to be considered part of the target market (ie: families that may own a motorcycle or small car), with almost all (98%) residing in the $4000-$10000 income bracket. Even at low gros margins, the Nano would be 22% of household income for those families that make $10000 annual income. Although 40 million households are estimated to be in the $4K $10K income bracket, it can be expected that a small number of these will be earning $10,000. Therefore, the target market can be considered greatly reduced, and their price sensitivities very high. However, as discussed, it can be assumed that these households already have a motorcycle, and approx 2 million could switch to a cheap car. In the analysis of Case Exhibit 6 there is no reference to Labour or SGA costs for the Nano. We will write a custom essay sample on Tata Motors Hbr Case Profitability of the Nano specifically for you for only $16.38 $13.9/page Order now We will write a custom essay sample on Tata Motors Hbr Case Profitability of the Nano specifically for you FOR ONLY $16.38 $13.9/page Hire Writer We will write a custom essay sample on Tata Motors Hbr Case Profitability of the Nano specifically for you FOR ONLY $16.38 $13.9/page Hire Writer When these are estimated (general and admin costs assumed to be negligible due to Tataââ¬â¢s current operations of vehicle production), the cost of the Nano rises to a point where $2200 (USD) per unit price will not be profitable. If the 24% Post Manufacturing Tax remains (p. 18), a promotional budget is included (assumed to be 20% of per-unit sales up to first 250,000 units), and labour cost/unit is included (Appendix Exhibit 1), the sale price of the Nano must rise to approximately $2600USD (Appendix Exhibit 2). Also, current profitability is a poor indicator for future profitability. A rise in raw material price will mean a rise in price of supplies (eg: steel). The already near-zero profit margins will diminish without an increase in selling price. Industry/Strategy Tata is entering a new market, and a careful analysis of the competitive forces in India must be carried out (see Appendix Exhibit 3 ââ¬â Porterââ¬â¢s Five Forces). Considering rivalry, Tata is the leader on price. This gives them a very important competitive advantage in a highly price-sensitive market. Although market share has large potential for increasing, the threat of new entrants increases the rivalry over the coming years. The advantage for Tata lies in sourcing low-cost inputs through a unique supply chain. The supply chain is supported by inputs from suppliers in close proximity to the Tata facility, and is characterized by a high number of suppliers competing with one another for the Tata business. There are many input substitutes available with a relatively low purchasing cost. This places Tata in a strong position over suppliers and allows them to manufacture cars at a low cost. The competitive force of the buyer can be considered low for the Indian market. Since the Nano will be the cheapest car available, it may be the only option for many car buyers and there will be few substitutes available until foreign competitors can establish a similar low-cost structure. The buyer gains leverage with very high price sensitivity, essentially in the form of affordability. The barriers to entry are in favour of Tata. They can realize economies of scale in terms of increasing their capacity for vehicle production, their efforts in promotion, labour and material inputs, and distribution facilities. These will be difficult barriers to overcome for new entrants, and high (or increasing) average costs may keep competitors from entering. The government taxation policy also serves as a barrier to profitability for manufacturers. A high threat of substitutes will be a competitive force against Tata, as consumers opt for the popular and cheaper options of motorcycles or public transit. In terms of car substitutes, however, Tata has the advantage of lowest cost. Ethical Considerations An ethical consideration is whether Tataââ¬â¢s values are in the right place and, if so, are they truthful? The Chairman proclaims the Nano is ââ¬Å"the peopleââ¬â¢s carâ⬠. However, will an increase in cars really have a positive effect on the productivity and quality of life of the average Indian? Despite the Nanoââ¬â¢s low emissions, pollution will increase with a dramatic increase in cars. Also, congestion will have a negative impact on urban centres, and the quality of the car is not suitable for rural roads. If the Chairmanââ¬â¢s values really are with the interests of the people, the resources for the Nano could be redirected to efforts in improving infrastructure and mass transit systems. Recommendations Based on the assessment of current and future profitability, I am recommending Tata move forward with production, but maintain as narrow a margin as possible to establish early market penetration and brand equity. The goal of $2200USD selling price is unprofitable and unrealistic. Even at the selling prices described in Appendix Table 2, Tata will still be the leader in cost competitiveness. They should therefore implement a higher selling price. As was described in the competitive forces model, Tata must retain its ââ¬Å"First Moverâ⬠position. To accomplish this, Tata needs to continue to keep their suppliers in a technology development and low-cost race, and ensure an increase in car manufacturers does not provide the suppliers with greater competitive force. Finally, international market share is a requirement, as the Indian market will quickly become diluted. Tata can distribute in their currently occupied markets of Southern and Eastern Europe, and can also use this opportunity to raise prices to increase margins to cover the narrow margins in India. Before Tata can establish itself in other developing countries, the profitability of the business model must first be proven in its home country. A Quiz About Compressing Accordion Sentences
A Quiz About Compressing Accordion Sentences A Quiz About Compressing Accordion Sentences A Quiz About Compressing Accordion Sentences By Mark Nichol Brisk, lively writing requires attending to phrasing that slows readers down and or trips them up. Be vigilant about finding ways to make sentences less wordy and more direct. Firm up these five flabby sentences, and compare your revisions with mine: 1. ââ¬Å"The kit includes a set of five food containers, and they are dishwasher safe.â⬠Insert the key information in the second clause of this sentence as a phrasal adjective preceding the subject: ââ¬Å"The kit includes a set of five dishwasher-safe food containers.â⬠2. ââ¬Å"In 1995, he published a book called Bowling Alone, which introduced the term ââ¬Ësocial capitalââ¬â¢ into our nationââ¬â¢s vocabulary.â⬠Shift the focus from the authorââ¬â¢s act of publishing the book to the result of the publication by deleting compacting the phrase ââ¬Å"he published a book calledâ⬠to ââ¬Å"his book,â⬠then delete the comma and which: ââ¬Å"In 1995, his book Bowling Alone introduced the term ââ¬Ësocial capitalââ¬â¢ into our nationââ¬â¢s vocabulary.â⬠(Use this solution cautiously, as such a shift in focus may cause the passage to veer from fidelity to the authorââ¬â¢s intent.) 3. ââ¬Å"The film was commissioned by the US Treasury Department, and it was troubled from the beginning.â⬠When a sentence includes more than one form of the verb phrase ââ¬Å"to beâ⬠is, was, were, and the like discover a way to eliminate at least one of them; in this case, alter what follows was in the first clause to a subordinate clause, and jettison the conjunction: ââ¬Å"The film, commissioned by the U.S. Treasury Department, was troubled from the beginning.â⬠(Look for opportunities in such cases to replace not one but both ââ¬Å"to beâ⬠verbs, which are inferior in impact to more vivid verbs doing so may encourage you to be more specific, too: ââ¬Å"The film, commissioned by the U.S. Treasury Department, suffered from bureaucratic interference from the beginning.â⬠) 4. ââ¬Å"Smith is president of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention, and frequently represents evangelicals in the media.â⬠This sentence is improved in the same fashion as the previous one, with the additional improvement of replacing the verbose ââ¬Å"part of the wholeâ⬠construction with a ââ¬Å"wholeââ¬â¢s partâ⬠revision: ââ¬Å"Smith, president of the Southern Baptist Conventionââ¬â¢s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission, frequently represents evangelicals in the media.â⬠(Take care, however, that this more concentrated restructuring is not more ponderous than the original phrasing.) 5. ââ¬Å"My cousin, who is employed as an epidemiologist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, claims that a scenario similar to that one could occur if the circumstances were right.â⬠Delete the redundant indicators that the writerââ¬â¢s cousin is a person (who) and is employed at the place of employment, and tighten the rest of the sentence by converting phrases that contain an adjective and follow a noun into adjectives preceding the nouns and modifying them on their own: ââ¬Å"My cousin, an epidemiologist at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, claims that a similar scenario could occur under the right circumstances.â⬠Want to improve your English in five minutes a day? Determine whether ethnocentrism or ethical relativism apply for Essay
Determine whether ethnocentrism or ethical relativism apply for specific cross-cultural business circumstances - Essay Example Therefore, business leaders and executives should critically evaluate their business circumstances, especially for those involving specific cross-cultural situations, in order to avoid applying ethnocentrism, which may jeopardize the business transactions. For instance, one of the parties to the business contract may pull away if he or she feels considered as a junior partner to the contract due to his or her culture or religion (Egger, 2008). Ethical relativism is a similar practice to ethnocentrism whereby an individual tends to make ethical choices basing on what he or she feels is reasonable or right in accordance with an individualââ¬â¢s own value system or belief. Globalization intensified the interaction of different cultures across the world. This demands that business leaders as well as executives apply considerable accommodation to new cultures and beliefs whenever dealing with cross-cultural business transactions to avoid offending the other party to the contract or bus iness deal. In most circumstances, business leaders use language barriers as a basis to judge other cultures, e.g. the fact that English is the international language in the world does not mean that those who do not know the language do not have anything valuable to offer. Therefore, it is necessary to apply considerable accommodation to such cultural differences in order to foster understanding, e.g. hiring an interpreter to mediate between them during a business transaction (Guffey, Rhodes & Rogin, 2008). International business ethics refers to the standardized cord of ethics or norms that guides the conduct of transacting businesses in an international field. Due to the conflicting provisions of cultures as well as religions across the world, business have to adhere to the set cord of ethics while doing international business in order to facilitate smooth transaction across various cultures. Furthermore, international business ethics enables the companies as well as their represe ntatives and agents to stay above ethnocentrism or ethical relativism. However, global leaders as well as guardians of international trade such as the United Nations have a stipulated set of recognized norms that businesses have to abide to, such as the UN Global Impact. This provision enables businesses to engage professionally when confronted with cross cultural business circumstances as well as maintain cordial business relations with their partners (Jhingran, 2001). Some of the common aspects of international business ethics include: Environment friendly technologies Eradicating corruption, extortion, and bribery Promote environmental responsibility. Eliminate employment discrimination. Eliminate forced and compulsory labor. Eradicate child labor and slavery. Foster international cooperation. Despite the need to conform to international business ethics, there are situations that require business executives as well as marketing professionals to apply local culture when determinin g their ethical practices. This is especially in cases where the business transaction has a lot more sentimental value as compared to its commercial value. Take for instance in a business transaction that involves dealing with antiques and traditional artifacts such as monuments, curving, drawings and idols. These artifacts have a certain protocol of handling them, failure to which it may cast an evil

A Critical Role in Deterring Smoking Both in the US and in the UK Research Paper
A Critical Role in Deterring Smoking Both in the US and in the UK - Research Paper Example Particularly, according to statistical data, the number of adult smokers in the U.K went down by approximately one million between 2006 and 2007 (Easton, 2009). However, contrary to this observation, the number of heavy smokers has increased to 29% from 24% during the same period and those who planned to quit reduced by approximately 5% from 72% (Easton, 2009). The fall represents an estimated 1.2 million people. The U.K also required the manufacturers to print health warnings on the cigarette packs in an attempt to deter people from smoking. According to the most recent statistics, the U.K has 22% and 19% male and female smokers respectively. Although the U.K has approximately 10 million smokers, there are 15 million ex-smokers indicating that the ban has been effective (Smoking Statistics, 2013). Nevertheless, the U.K has been receiving some troubling news concerning the number of children starting smoking, which stood at 200,000 annually (Cancer Research UK, 2013). On the other ha nd, the U.S has more smokers than the U.K. According to a 2012 statistic, the U.S has at least 42 million smokers, which represents 18.1% of the overall population (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2014a, p. 30-32). This number comprises of adults alone or individuals with at least 18 years of age. Of the overall U.S smokers, 78% were heavy smokers. According to race, the American Indians led the smokers with 21% and the behaviour is more common among the males than females with males taking on almost 21% while females represent 15.8%.

Personal statement Essay Example for Free
Personal statement Essay My names David, and just like my entire society of Jews, I have been neglected from the German nation. I have found no reasoning, no explanation, for why we been blamed for our countries extreme downfall. For the last two years our family has been in hiding and three months ago we were located and persecuted by the Nazis. The neighbors gather information and noticed we were Jewish, they quickly called the police. Weve received letters from our relatives stating their safe in a labor camp but I know they are probably not even alive anymore. Ive kept updated with the militaries action and they invaded Poland 39 as well. I feel an entire war begging and the help for our race is no where near. This Genocide is no where near over. We were stuffed into train crafts, over crowed without any space to sit. We had a bucket as a toilet for about 35 people. I felt the presence of evil from the begging, and even though I know were heading to Auschwitz I dont have any predictions for my future. As soon as we stepped off the train we were separated into two groups. To me the groups were workers and the other were the useless. I havent seen my mother or baby sister nor my grandmother. Me and my father escaped and are once again in hiding. We tried locating our family but we cant find anyone from the other group, but have seen bodies being disposed and the crematoria. I havent slept but Ive cried, consistently. As well as my father were torn down we understand what is going and are hopeless. I know the year, 1943. But not the day nor month. Help? I donââ¬â¢t expect it, not after 4 years not anytime soon especially not America who didnââ¬â¢t even allow the St. Louis ship to stop in the beginning. The only reason I believe this is because they have no idea what is going on. If they did they would evidently stop this epidemic and come rescue us. Me and my father have been living hopeless and have not expected anything to change but were safely hiding. Today we saw American soldiers invaded the labor camp and I have no idea what my future holds. Hopefully we can relocate to Israel which is under British control or united states. I just want for everything to go back to normal but the will never happen, especially since my family has been destroyed. The Allies soldiers are helping as much as possible and feel more sorrow then any other person, They will never fully understand what we went through. The world has come to a complete change, they understand that the isolation only brought destruction to entire world and the only way to keep peace is too come to a united world. I donââ¬â¢t feel the same, never will. My mentality has developed, I avoid eye contact with everyone, I hate speaking of the experiences but I most in order to let society know what has really happened.

Argumentative Essay On Social Media
Nowadays, a lot of people are using social media such as Facebook, Twitter, Tumbler and so on. Since the Internet has propagated rapidly, social media have progressed a lot. The generalization of the internet makes us to live conveniently and fast. People are almost using smart phones, i-phones or comfortable devices which can access to internet. These equipments make us to do social network easily. It helps contact friends, family, and other people even though they live far away. It could be, however, abused, if you donââ¬â¢t use properly.Especially, it is important that we understand and regulate the use of social media by young children. First of all, social media, especially facebook, are very addicted. People would say drug or alcohol is more addicted than social media or social media addiction is not big problems, but it is not true. There is a report of the social media addiction by University of Chicagoââ¬â¢s Booth School of Business. A team from the University of Chica goââ¬â¢s Booth School of Business recently conducted an experiment involving 205 people in Wurtzburg, Germany to analyze the addictive properties of social media and other vices.Participants in the week-long study were polled via BlackBerry smart phones seven times per day and asked to report when they experienced a desire within the past 30 minutes, and whether or not the succumbed to that desire. They were also asked to gauge each desire on a scale from mild to ââ¬Å"irresistible. â⬠In the light of these facts, surely social media make addicts, and it is hard to escape. The problem is most people who have an addiction to social media and donââ¬â¢t even realize it. Second, people can get mental and physical disorders easily through using social media.People might bet think social media is not matter with the disorders. They argued the social media is good for mental diseases because social media help express their feelings or thought easily. Also, through social media, they can be connected each other more. However, social media just offer limited meeting. They just meet on websites, not physical meeting. Psychologist, Aric Sigman suggests ââ¬Å"The use of social networking sites as opposed to face-to-face interaction could lead to major health problems. â⬠Also he claimed in the British Journal The Biologistââ¬Å"Spending too much time online could lead to social isolation, loneliness and a negative outlook. These types of psychological symptoms could eventually lead to more serious health concerns, such as heart disease, cancer and dementia. â⬠Using social media disturbs make deep relationship with others. When they are using social media we do not need to move a lot. It is okay just to stay. We do not need to active a lot. As a result, it leads naturally mental and physical disorders. Third, social media doesnââ¬â¢t help for their studies or talents.People think social media is good places to show their talents or works what th ey did. For example, they argue people can share video clip what they playing the instruments or dancing or singing. It is, however, for people who already good to do those. If you are not good at those things and if you spend time to do social media, it would be hard to progress your talents. I did surveys about relationships between using social media and studying last semester. Most students answered using social media is not helpful to study. Also, students who got good grades spend just a little time to use social media. Using social media steals your time to what really want to do easily. If you do not pay attention, your time is gone very fast, and it cannot be returned. If you read books, study, exercising, practice singing, dancing or playing the instruments instead of using social media, it would be much better for you and your future life. Especially, the young generation and children are easy to be exposed to environments which using social media.Social media are favorite not only along with teens or youngsters; itââ¬â¢s growing among working people and also old people. Social media addiction drug exactly where everyone is continuously logged on it irrespective that they have worked or they donââ¬â¢t have anything to complete. Itââ¬â¢s regarded Social media an addiction exactly where many people have become addicts every day. It could be occurred mental and physical disease and make you waste time. Those are why we need to understand and regulate the use of social media by young children.

Gender Roles A Social Norm For Women - 1633 Words
I never really thought about gender roles growing up. I wanted to shave my legs by the time I was eight, I wanted to wear makeup before I even hit sixth grade, and I used to cry when my mom told me I had to wear pants to school instead of a dress when it was cold outside. I was your stereotypical feminine female. But as I have grown up, I have begun to realize that many people are not like me. I have also begun to realize what many more people expect from me. Wearing makeup has become a social norm for women. Little girls put on costume makeup to play dress up because they see the ââ¬Å"beautifulâ⬠women on TV and in the media wearing it. Those ââ¬Å"beautifulâ⬠women become the young girlsââ¬â¢ idols and they start to admire their looks and replicateâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦So again, we return to the question of these young girls wouldnââ¬â¢t wear makeup if all of their idols are. We are taught as young women (either by our parents, the media, or our friends) that it is the correct thing to do, so we do it. But men are not taught this same thing; your typical male role models do not wear makeup. Sure, if an actor is going on camera or playing a particular character they will wear some type of stage makeup, but that is an exception. Men, for the most part, do not feel the pressures of society to look perfect and hide their flaws because the role models they see everyday are out living their life without a drop of tinted moisturizer. I cannot even count the number of times I have seen photos of a male and female celebrity both in sweatpants with the males caption as ââ¬Å"so and so goes grocery shopping in relaxed pantsâ⬠and the females saying ââ¬Å"so and so is so heartbroken over her break up that she could not even get dressed today.â⬠That example is a major reason as to why I am focusing on wearing makeup in this paper. I am a woman who is sick and tired of being expected to hide my flaws and look hot while the man next to me can wear sweatpants with bedhead and not get a second look from anyone. Every morning when I wake up, I get dressed, I put on my contacts, and then I do my make up. Itââ¬â¢s like clockwork.
